Module Eighteen

Another form of energy healing that draws on foundations of ancient Chinese medicine is Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT and Tapping.

The concept is that you ‘tap’ on a series of meridian points used in Chinese medicine in other modalities of healing, like acupuncture and acupressure, while talking on what ever emotional trigger you may be experiencing at the time. The important thing is that you be sure to ‘rate’ the emotional intensity of your trigger before you begin your rounds of tapping, so as to be able to track the improvement of your emotional state.

Here is the detailed process of how to use EFT:

  • Identify your emotional trigger and rate it from 1 - 10, 1 being low and 10 being high) ex, “I feel overwhelmed and it’s a 9”

  • Lightly tap on the side of your hand (formerly known as the karate chop point) while saying: “Even though I feel __________, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.” (Repeat this for a total of three times).

  • Next, lightly tap on the top of your head and say “I feel __________.”

  • Tap on the INSIDE OF THE EYEBROW and say “I feel ____________.”

  • Side of eye “I feel ____________.”

  • Under eye “I feel ____________.”

  • Under nose “I feel ____________.”

  • Chin “I feel ____________.”

  • Under arm “I feel ____________.”

  • Gamut point “I feel ____________.”

Once you have completed a round of tapping on each point, take a moment to assess and rate the level of intensity of your emotional trigger once more. Continue tapping until you can get your intensity to a two or lower!
