Module Six

Continuing our discussion on elemental energies, this week we will be examining the elements of Earth and Air.

Earth energy is the energy that most connects us to our human experience. Earth energy represents fertility, abundance, and is the energy of beginnings and endings. Humans begin their life on earth once they are born, live their lives by virtue of the sustenance that is provided by Earth’s resources, and eventually leave their earthly bodies which, in turn, decays and returns to the Earth itself. It also represents abundance in that all material possessions that are either attained, desired, or coveted in ones lifetime are indeed an earthly experience.

The elemental energy of Air is also fundamental to our human experience because we all need air to breathe and survive. However, the element of Air ties our human experience to our eternal spiritual nature because the life force energy, or Chi - the essence of life, is believed to be carried through the breath. For this reason, in ritual, it is common for the element of Air to be represented in a spiritual context, as in lighting incense as an offering to deities, ancestors, or the Divine.

Again, some people view the elemental energies as a part of their subconscious self, as a dormant facet of their being, or as a quality of their higher self; others view the elemental energies as outside of their own autonomy. Your psychic senses will help you to determine which vantage point is aligned with your own belief systems and the context you hold in regards to your personal power.
